Adult Drug Court

In the 19th Judicial Circuit, comprising Martin St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties defendants can be referred the to Drug Court Program. This program can be beneficial to our clients in a number of important ways.
First- if our client is suffering from drug addiction, this program has a very high success rate and a low occurrence of recidivism.
Second - Completion of the program will result in the charges against you being dismissed.

Drug Court Eligibility

- You must be charged with a 3rd degree felony drug related offense
- You must have no prior felony convictions or violent misdemeanor convictions
- You must show a strong desire to overcome a drug abuse habit


Drug Court Requirements

The Drug Court Program consists of an evaluation and three phases. Each phase must be successfully completed before advancement to the next phase. Once you have successfully completed all phases you will be eligible to gradation and the charges and then dismissed.


Phase I (Approximately 10 weeks)

-Group counseling sessions once per week
-Individual counsel sessions once per week
-Mandatory 5 AA or NA documented meetings per week
-Random urinalysis - minimum once per week
-Court status checks every week.
-30 consecutive clean urine days needed to advance to Phase II


Phase II (Approximately 10 weeks)

-Group counseling sessions once per week
-Individual counsel sessions once per week
-Mandatory 3 AA or NA documented meetings per week
-Random urinalysis - minimum once per week
-Court status checks every other week.
-60 consecutive clean urine days needed to advance to Phase III


Phase III (Approximately 7 months)

-Group counseling sessions once per week
-Mandatory 3 AA or NA documented meetings per week
-Random urinalysis - minimum once per week
-Court status checks once per month
